Ultrasonic Cleaning at MCR

Do you feel your machine could be running more efficiently? Or maybe you’ve got a project bike on the go, or you’re in the middle of rebuilding your motorcycle?

Contact MCR about our ultrasonic cleaning service.

A clean carburettor is an efficient carburettor. MCR have used ultrasonic cleaning on the carbs in a Triumph 900 Trophy and regained 9 hp of efficiency. Imagine what we could do for your ride.

Not sure if your carb needs cleaning?

Here are four common signs that your carburettor needs attention:

Your bike just won’t start

If the engine turns over or cranks, but doesn’t start, it could be due to a dirty carburettor. A build-up of dirt in your carburettor can prevent the right amount of fuel and air getting to your engine, causing it to turn over, but not actually start.

Your bike is running lean

An engine “runs lean” when it’s getting too much air or not enough fuel. One of the biggest causes of running lean is not getting enough fuel to the carb.

Your bike is running rich

When an engine runs “rich,” it’s the exact opposite of running lean, meaning there’s excess fuel and not enough air.

Your bike's engine is flooded

If there is dirt or debris in the fuel bowl, it can block the needle valve and prevent it from closing. When this happens, fuel overflows into the carb. This throws off the air-to-fuel ratio and gets the spark plugs wet.

These problems aren’t always caused by a dirty or faulty carburettor but it’s certainly a good place to start looking.

Don’t let a dirty carb give you any grief. Come talk to us about your bike and whether a good cleaning might be the answer.
